St Peter’s is proud to be a Woodland Trust Gold Award School. Green Tree Schools encourage outdoor learning and inspire pupils about trees, woods and wildlife.

Through the award, our school took part in fun, practical projects while helping the environment and improving our grounds. Schools are rewarded for doing environmental projects such as tree planting, reducing CO2 emissions and visiting local woods. We collected points for each activity we completed, progressing through bronze, silver and gold.

Children learned about trees and animals in their Science and Geography topics but also took part in outdoor learning and forest school activities, including a whole school outdoor day. The projects were also supported by the Gardening Club and the Eco-Committee.
