Outdoor Learning
Outdoor learning is a crucial part of every child's educational journey at St Peter's. All children get the opportunity, and are encouraged, to take their learning outdoors. In the extensive grounds, lessons are often outdoors, in our orchard, wildlife pond, kitchen garden or ornamental South Lawn. We are proud to be a Woodland Trust School and all year groups take part in outdoor learning activities all year round.
Reception Class have weekly Forest School sessions and Lower School regularly have specific outdoor learning opportunities. Upper School classes use our outdoor teaching spaces as and when the curriculum demands. All children understand the importance of the world around them and we have a whole school approach to conservation and protecting our trees and wildlife. We also go to other outdoor areas to learn including Stanwick Lakes, Wicksteed Park and the grounds of Rockingham Castle.
