Julia Kirkman

Year 1 Teacher

Julia is a dedicated and experienced educator who has been enriching the lives of primary school students for over a decade. After completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) at the University of Manchester, Julia embarked on a career that has taken her through various primary schools in vibrant locations such as Kensington and Chelsea, Richmond Upon Thames, and Manchester. This diverse teaching experience has equipped her with a unique understanding of the educational needs and potentials of children from different backgrounds, allowing her to tailor her approach to foster engagement and learning.

With a degree in Pharmacology from the same university, she is passionate about inspiring young minds to explore the intricacies of science. At St Peter’s, Julia proudly serves as the Science Leader, a role that reflects her keen interest in the subject and commitment to promoting scientific literacy among students. Her goal is to create an environment where students feel inspired to ask questions, explore new concepts, and develop a lifelong love of learning. She believes that science is a powerful tool that can help students understand the world around them and prepare them for future challenges.

Beyond the classroom, Julia nurtures a variety of interests that complement her professional life. An avid reader, she enjoys immersing herself in literature, her favourite book series being Harry Potter. Travel is also a passion; exploring diverse cultures and connecting with the outdoors. She has one more continent to tick off the bucket list!
