St Peter's School Prospectus

A healthy body complements a healthy mind, and so our school is geared to providing an environment that promotes this philosophy. We are passionate about healthy eating, and so we have a resident chef, who plans and prepares lunches with his team in our fully-equipped kitchen. Offering a healthy choice and vegetarian option, the children are seated in formal dining with their peers and staff members. This encourages interaction between them, and provides an opportunity to catch up with the activities of busy days, promoting good table manners, and allowing our teachers and assistants to get to know the children even better outside of the classroom. Our regular sporting activities and leafy grounds mean that exercise and fresh air is a constant too. After school, we offer a wide variety of clubs across all disciplines and these vary termly. For working parents who need it, wrap around care is available before and after school in our popular Cedar Hub eco-building. Excellent pastoral care supports the school’s aims of providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all pupils ISI Caring for the environment Children are instinctively fervent about protecting the environment, and at St Peter’s we encourage that passion. We are proud to be a member of the Woodland Trust, and its Green Tree Schools scheme encourages outdoor learning and inspires pupils about wildlife. The St Peter’s Eco-Committee is made up of staff and children who are passionate about making our school and our world more sustainable, and helping us to become more aware of green issues. The children are the driving force behind committees, such as the School Council, which meets on a regular basis to discuss new ideas and plan activities aimed at increasing environmental awareness, and introducing initiatives in school.
