St Peter's School Prospectus

St Peter’s has built up a reputation for excellence. We are a friendly school, where children are encouraged to be curious and creative life-long learners, to be team players and look out for others. The happy, family atmosphere is reinforced by the fact that many of our current pupils are children, grandchildren, nephews or nieces of former pupils. This sense of continuity is a source of great pride. We have a remarkably supportive environment within our walls – our own little haven of peace and learning – however for children to develop practically, empathetically and emotionally they need to see what goes on with the wider world. To support this we actively engage with supporting a number of charities and get involved in local projects. The School and its families support national and local charities and for many years we have also supported Goodwill Children’s Homes, a charity that provides funding to give long term care and education to destitute children in South India. Links with the community are also well established. St Peter’s School is in the parish of St Peter & St Paul, with St Michael & All Angels, and is a short walk from both churches. Our children gather Harvest produce and make donations to local food banks. The children also visit local senior citizens organisations, providing music and poetic entertainment. St Peter’s School Houses Being part of a House encourages every child to feel a sense of belonging and provides our older pupils with the opportunity to support the younger ones, learning the responsibility of becoming a role model. Above all, our House system promotes a sense of friendly competition that enhances children’s understanding of how to win and lose in the right way. Children care for others and the world around us COMMUNITY
