St Peter's School Prospectus

We encourage our children to take part in a variety of sports and extra-curricular clubs including cookery, gardening, nature, chess, drawing, drama and dance. Providing themwith the support to do this starts when they first enter St Peter’s, be that in Reception Class or Sunnylands Nursery; we encourage them to become independent learners and thinkers, not dependent on teachers to constantly guide them. This is done through a school culture that embraces mutual respect for each other’s achievements, honesty and integrity, and positive, measured feedback. We know each of our children’s hopes and fears, and what they need to realise the former and overcome the latter. The result is children who are comfortable to make their own decisions, have no fear of failure and can manage and navigate their way through problems and challenges. We encourage our children to take part in a variety of sport and extra-curricular activities, including academic clubs in science, maths, chess, and puzzles, arts clubs and lifestyle clubs such as cookery, gardening, homework, and environment. By offering such a wide range of learning experiences and extra-curricular activities, every pupil will find interests and passions that will equip themwith confidence and self-validation. This produces well-rounded, happy, assured children, ready for their next steps into the wider world. Gaining independence and responsibility CONFIDENCE St Peter’s School Self-reliance supported through technology Technology is essential for children to become confident, self-reliant learners, and at St Peter’s we have invested a significant amount in our hardware, software and systems.
