The children have been enjoying the revitalised environmental classroom since the beginning of term. Our caretakers have spent a lot of time clearing back the natural growth to allow easier access to the pond area, and Mr Turner has replanted the area using plants and items found around our school - including some of the old crockery used when the school first opened in 1946. Great recycling Mr Turner! We have spotted some frog spawn and some very interestingly shaped beetles checking it out already!
Year 4 will be using the area for topical curriculum in their Food Chains and Minibeasts topics coming up, and the leaves have given some great inspiration for wax leaf rubbing in the new Cedar Hub in Art lessons.
